Marketing teams are always in a state of evolution. From the “great resignation” to companies growing, there is always something new that can be done to enhance your team.

Seismic SVP of Marketing, Kyle Lacy, was recently on the B2B Growth podcast where he talked about the differences of leading marketing at a high-growth company like Lessonly, and how that compares to a larger company like Seismic.

He raised some great points about branding, marketing technology (MarTech), and aligning sales and marketing by having BDRs (or SDRs) sit within marketing rather than sales. I once worked in a marketing department where SDRs moved from sales, to marketing, and then back to sales. Better alignment leads to better results.

Here’s a breakdown of some of what Kyle had to say.

In case you missed it a few weeks ago, I was on the 7-Figure Small podcast where I talked about my process behind this newsletter and a few other topics. Check it out if you want to learn more.

Thanks for skimming,

-Jim
